Coffee and tea lovers always wanted to have their perfect batch of coffee every time they blend and brew. This post is made to give you expert tips on how to make a perfect cup of coffee using French Press/Press-Pot method.

    1.)    Even-out

We suggest not to stir the brewed coffee when pouring it to the cups to even out the coffee’s taste and strength. If you have friends that will drink your freshly brewed coffee, we advise that you distribute the coffee evenly across the serving cups, placing a small amount into one cup, then into another. By doing this repeatedly, the strength of your coffee will even out. Think of this Logic, “As the water goes near in contact with the ground beans (top-bottom), its concentration increases.” Thus, distributing it portion by portion, the cups will receive equal layers of the coffee from the press-pot.

    2.)    Plunge to Extract

Remember that for you to have a good tasting coffee; extraction of the ground beans is crucial. Plunging the press up and down will agitate the ground during steeping. Thus, extracting the beans more and giving you flavorful coffee.

    3.)    Pour Slowly

Grounds will always be in every cup. It’s is part of this press pot experience and as a matter of fact, enthusiasts and aficionados very much like it. If you notice that the amount of grounds in your cup is too many; what you can do instead is to pour your freshly brewed coffee slowly. By doing this, grounds will be less agitated from the bottom of your press pot.

    4.)    Brew Small Batches

If you are not going to consume all the freshly brewed coffee, we suggest that you brew small bathes only. The press cools very fast and you don’t have a way to preserve the heat. If this happens, we advise that you buy a new thermos or any insulated metal pot that can preserve the heat for some time)

5.)    Clean your press pot thoroughly

Grounds and oils that are hard to see can stack up on the hard metal plate, to the crevices of your  pot and especially to the mesh filter. This happens when you did not dissemble your plunger and you just rinsed it or just placed it into the dishwasher. We highly suggest and encourage you to disassemble your plunger and clean it thoroughly to avoid what we call “seasoning” of these metal parts. You don’t want that to happen, do you?

Now, your blended coffee can be compared to a coffee bought in coffee shops or you can impress your boss when you had your coffee breaks in the office or give a good impression on your business partners when having a meeting. With these top 5 tips, you can now sit and relax while having your perfect tasting coffee or tea.
