Everyone loves coffee, who would not want to have a cup of coffee in the morning? Have it at the coffee shop, at home or at your coffee break in the office . Name it! You can drink it anywhere that is why almost everyone loves it! It's one of the pleasures that one can have especially in the morning. But, as this wonder drink gives us pleasure, it has issues on it. Did you ever wonder why despite of its issues and criticisms, people still loves it and and doctors do drink it? This post will get in to those issues and will prove them wrong!


Who would not know the issues on coffee? It is once said that a cup coffee can give you so much problems in health and when taken for a long period of time, it can give you life threatening problems. It's quite ironic that coffee before is questionable, but now it is considered to give you health benefits.

Study show that coffee contains antioxidants that can help and protect you from harmful and deadly diseases such as diabetes, cancer, heart diseases and other health problems. Enumerated here are the reasons why you should not stop your habit and reasons why coffee is good for your health!


1.) Effect on Parkinson's Disease


A study shows that as you take more coffee, the occurrence of this disease is lessen. Though the true reason is not yet clear, it is suspected that the effect was due to the presence of caffeine. It is also said that it seems to protect men from Parkinson's disease but not women. This is maybe due to the fact that estrogen and caffeine the the same enzymes to be metabolized and competes for those enzymes. Thus, estrogen captures most of it.


2.) Reduced Blood Pressure


It is true that coffee raises blood pressure but the increase is temporary and that a long term drinking of coffee can actually help a person develop tolerance on coffee's hypertensive effects.

3.) Decrease Risk on Diabetes

This maybe is the most known issue on coffee, it is said that a person must stay away from coffee because it develops Type 2 diabetes. But, studies show that coffee contain phytochemicals that help lower blood sugar and if you are a regular coffee drinker, it will help you boost your metabolism, keeping diabetes at bay and decreasing chance of acquiring it. For me this is by far the most ironic reason of it. Pretty interesting right?

4.) Goodbye Cholesterol

Truly it is that coffee increases cholesterol levels, this is due to the compounds cafestol and kahweol that are responsible for raising cholesterol levels. BUT!!! these compounds can be filtered through coffee paper filters. Therefore, if you have known issues on cholesterol and still wants to have a cup of coffee, don't be afraid because you now have a solution!! FILTER IT AND YOU'LL BE FINE!

5.) Heart Disease and Stroke

It is known that a person who has diabetes is more prone to heart disease and stroke, but since we have said earlier that coffee reduces the risk of diabetes and helps you give a more active metabolism, this factor is not a total concern anymore with coffee. In fact, a study was conducted and found out that people who drink 1 - 3 cups of coffee a day have twenty per cent (20%) less probability to be hospitalized due to heart problems.


6.) Reduces Risk Cancer


Believe it or not, coffee drinkers are less likely to have cancer especially liver cancer. In fact, fifty per cent (50%) of people who drinks coffee regularly are less likely to get liver cancer compared to non drinkers. This is maybe due to the fact that coffee contains high level of antioxidants that are essential to the repair and maintenance of the body especially those that are exposed to free radicals.


7.) No to Gallstones


People who drinks coffee are more or less protected from having these because cholesterol content of the bile produced in the liver can be altered by coffee.


8.) Improves Mood


Drinking coffee in moderation can boost your mood and cuts down depression. This phenomena is caused by the molecule dopamine. It is a neurotransmitter that is s precursor of adrenaline that helps you to achieve  a good nerve conduction and gives you that kick for a period of time. 


9.) Substitute for Headache pills


Yes, you've read it right. Coffee is often use as a cure for headaches especially when no drug is available. It is also a very good natural medicine in relieving pain caused by Migraine.and cluster headaches.


10.) Enhances Energy and Endurance
